THE COMMANDMENT for the lovers of the top-of-the-chart floor-blowers: The right to shake a leg can attain supremacy at Amphittheatre Janak, Janakpuri District Centre. It became clear when scores of them trusted their instincts for three days (August 16-18), for a few of them won prizes too.

Wordworth had a Dance Mania contest on its first anniversary at Amphi Janak. Lorded over by the young, it was an all-sold-out affair on all the three days.

The take-your-pick and do-it-yourself show saw 20 finalists making it to the final round through a flurry of preliminary round that went on for two days in the midst of wild cheers from the crowd.

The first round swirled on like this: Each contestant picked a prop and synchronised one's performance with the chosen prop.

The semi-final was a three-minute impromptu performance and the final was a five-minute performance on a song of one's own choice.

There was three categories Solo, Group below 16 and Group-above 16.

The winner in the solo was Ginny and the runner up Aman. The winners in the Group below 16 were Manu Anand (Joshilay) and second prize to Bunty (Bhangra beat). The winners in the third category were Deep Sarkar (Western Pioneer) and second Ramanpreet (Wah Bhai Wah).

Anchor Gagan made it interactive with plenty of jokes in DJ Gaurav ensured the crowd too cooed and shed some of its inhibition.

All the rounds were interspersed with Q&As with the friendly neighbourhood Emcee Rana Basu Thakur. Performances by Deepak Dey on karaoke and a live performance by group Echelon made it a memorable affair.
