EBONY, one of the India's largest chains of department stores has a story of doing everything in style. In keeping with this tradition, Ebony showcased with elan, the new summer collection of ETC at its flagship store in south extention. The afternoon turned out to be a grand success with a huge turnout of people at the store. The theme for the fashion show was Ebony ETC colours of the season 2002. In a well choreographed show of four rounds, six well known models namely Meher Bhasin, Annie Thomas, Ramneek Pantal, Lada, Iqbal and Mahesh Verma displayed the colours of summer in the following categories: Casual kurtas, T-shirts, formals and evening wears.
To last till the end of the summer 2002, the colours of the season were lemon yellow, lime green, hot pink, blue, red, black, mauve and purple. Playing to the theme all the outfits displayed used a combination of two of these colours.

Speaking about Ebony ETC , BS Narula , Managing Director said, " Ebony ETC is our in- house brand which proven to be a qualitatively better offering at very competitive prices. 21 percent of our revenues come from this brand.

With the way our customers have responded to Ebony ETC, we expect this figure to increase to 30 percent by the next year."

Currently the Ebony ETC label spans garments for men, women and children and accessories such as belts and handkerchiefs. With the introduction of linen we are planning to extend this brand to the household section as well he added.

With in-house brands such a Ebony ETC, superior quality products can be offeres to customers at competitive prices through direct sourcing of merchandise from the factory thus cutting off the distributor from the channel. Additionally a check on quality is ensured with complete control on the selection of the factory, manufacturing processes and choice of fabrics, design, stlyes and fits.
On the rationale for organizing such a fashion show, Narula said Fashion shows like this are a great opportunity for us to showcase the good work that the team behind ETC has been doing. We hope to continue organising more such events in the months to come.

The Ebony chain of departments stores headed by BS Narula is a part of the $400 million DS group. The group also has offices in US, North Africa and UAE.
